Not for a Dodge or Nissan
I recently got a new job but I kept the old one on a part-time basis for now. The old one is at a translation company so meetings can often veer off topic and go in to a deep discussion of word origins.
At the new one people in coveralls use things such as the item pictured. It’s a bit of a culture shock.

Coveralls are the best form of work attire, makes dressing for work so easy. What am I wearing today? Did I wear this pair of coveralls yesterday? No, perfect.

That why I like wearing a hat to work. Is my hair brushed properly, who knows!

That is a fact, I had to also wore a hard hat. I was also able to display the fact I’m a car enthusiast.

Interestingly, there is actually a dress code for us office worker types that bans jeans and requires a shirt with a collar. Given that I’m an IT guy I wear the unofficial IT uniform of khakis and a polo. My previous jobs either just banned shorts and sandals (a building supply company) or didn’t have any dress code at all (the translation company).

I was a field engineer, so even on office days it was coveralls, and sperries. Couldn’t drive the M3 in steel toes.

they are also great if you want to look like an old man who has given up on life. the ones with a belt and some cheap slipon shoes to nail the look.

No idea, I’m just the IT guy that got the call that one of the shop’s laptops was “dead”. It was actually the Inline 6 unit that was deceased so I ordered them a new Inline 7. Set that one up today. It’s a nice upgrade since it can use Bluetooth or wifi to talk to the Cummins software on the computer.

Ah, lol, I jumped on that one way too soon. I haven’t used an Inline 7, or even seen one yet. Just 5s and 6s... Might be a while now since I’m in a different role now.

It was kind of a no-brainer to get the 7 since it was only $90 more on something that cost over $800.

I didn’t look that bad in coveralls, despite working there for over 2.5 years this is the only picture I have of me in coveralls, taken when I was still a trainee hence the green hat.

To the mechanics the ability to connect without having to stand outside in the cold was worth 1000%.
